Were you upset at a cliffhanger in book 2?? Well let me tell you that this book is everything you need! The drama, suspense, and detail just leave you wanting one more page, one more chapter, just lemme finish the book!! Tallora is by far one of my favorite humble heroines. No matter your feelings about lesbian romance (which is almost always steamy in the bathroom with Simper) , this book is so full of adventure and learning to stand up and speak out. 10/10 would recommend and I honestly can't wait for my signed trilogy and enamel pins to support the amazing SD Simper. #justdoit #justsaying I absolutely loved this series overall. I felt that it dealt with addiction, self harm, love, toxic relationships (familial, and romantic), loss, betrayal, and hope masterfully.The ultimate fate of Dauriel and Tallora, personally, seems to sort of fall into the cliched “love redeems all and makes you a better person” trope. But I think I was left mostly unsatisfied because I wanted an ending that explored a different avenue.But again, that’s just personal preference.I loved this more than Fallen Gods. And I feel like there is a disconnect between them even though they are in the same world. Hopefully further series’ will fill in those gaps and expand on the historical events that led to Fallen Gods.Over all though, I found myself crying and laughing throughout and definitely recommend to anyone looking something with strong female characters, a protagonist who is overall secure in herself, and a beautifully created fantasy world.
