First I will say that I have loved every book by this author but Lyn Gardner has created a masterpiece with this one. It is a long book so she was able to bring each character's personality to life perfectly. I loved Brodie who was a "love'em and leave'em" type. No relationships in her future! Then there was Kate who was positively a straight woman. Reaching the love story in this book was achieved early on but there were so many detours that my heart actually hurt for Brodie because love was new to her. I truly felt all of Kate's reluctance because after all---she was straight! The side characters were wonderful and brought so much to the story. This was an emotional read and a heart breaker at times. The flirty banter between Brodie and Kate was some of the best I've ever read. This will be a re-read for me for sure. Thank you so much, Lyn, for sharing this wonderful book. You are definitely one of the "greats". I love Lyn Gardnee books. She has girth to her novels that you dont see and she writes flawlessly and clean. As I was reading this book it was turning out to be at my all time favorite list, coming very close to replacing Give Me A Reason, and then, well it just didnt. Dont get me wrong I still loved it and was drawn into it but the constant push and pull and then the miracle and all was good was a little too easy for me considering how hard it kept being. I just wanted a longer recovery time and that will make sense if you read it. Kate and Brodie as well as Gina and Devon were really great characters. I even hated Kate a few times and wanted to smack her more than once. The emotion was real and though the relationship seemed a bit unhealthy at times, it sort of fit the characters. Worth a read and fans of Gardner are sure to enjoy it.
